What is Human Trafficking?
The Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) defines “severe forms of trafficking in persons” as:
- Sex trafficking: when a commercial sex act is induced by force, fraud, or coercion
- Labor trafficking: when a person is obtained for labor through the use of force, fraud, or coercion
Victims of human trafficking can be of any race/ethnicity, age, or gender.
