Since the beginning of 2025, Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Angelenos and vulnerable communities throughout California have endured government-sanctioned kidnappings, threats to healthcare and safety net programs, and the erosion of democracy itself.
On November 4th, California voters have a chance to defend democracy and fight back against authoritarianism. Join us and vote YES on 50, the Election Rigging Response Act.
WHY NOW?
No political party should be able to rig the game in their favor without facing a fight. The reality is that we would not be having this conversation if Texas did not move first to manipulate the results of the 2026 election.
Allowing one party to unilaterally change the outcome of an election more than a year before voting even begins virtually guarantees the political capture of one entire branch of federal government for the foreseeable future – no matter what voters do.
While AAPI Equity Alliance and California voters unequivocally support independent redistricting, extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures.
WHAT CAN WE DO?
This November 4th, California voters can approve emergency congressional district maps that defend democracy, represent our diverse communities, and ensure our voices aren’t silenced. A YES on Prop 50 levels the playing field and gives voters the power to counter the latest power grab by Trump.
The new maps would only be used in the 2026, 2028, 2030 elections. After 2030, the state would revert back to having the independent redistricting commission draw new congressional district boundaries.
This is a matter of preserving democracy, not party lines! Vote YES on 50.
