Stop AAPI Hate turned five! What started as a local effort to track the rise in anti-AAPI hate turned into a powerful, national movement for racial justice.
As a cofounder, AAPI Equity Alliance is proud of the milestones our coalition has made – from testifying before congress and passing bills to fight hate in California to uplifting 12,000+ reports of hate acts and sharing hundreds of stories of resilience!

Stop AAPI Hate’s anniversary comes at a critical moment. We are fighting against the same racist, anti-immigrant agenda that continues to harm Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, just as we did five years ago.
The Trump Administration has turned our worst fears into an authoritarian reality. Whole lives, families, and communities are being upended and dehumanized through hateful rhetoric and dangerous policies.
From invoking the vile Alien Enemies Act of 1798, last used to detain Japanese Americans during World War II, to justify the deportation of hundreds of Asians to targeting Asian university students for freely speaking their mind, the abuse of power is as clear as day. This is not normal.
Now, Congress and Trump want to intimidate and punish pro-immigrant communities like Los Angeles with the “No Bailout for Sanctuary Cities” Act. If passed, cities and states are forced to make a choice between protections for immigrants or federal funding for schools, healthcare, food assistance, and emergency services that benefit everyone and keep us all safe.
This is unacceptable. AAPI Equity Alliance and Stop AAPI Hate will not stand idly by while our communities are attacked. We have strength in numbers when we work in solidarity.
Join us and contact your representatives to hold them accountable to our demands. You won’t have to write anything, just fill out the same information you normally would during an online checkout! It only takes a couple of minutes.
As we commemorate our five-year-anniversary during a second Trump Administration, AAPI Equity Alliance and Stop AAPI Hate are ready to do whatever it takes to build a future where all communities are protected, celebrated, and empowered.
In Solidarity,
The AAPI Equity Alliance and Stop AAPI Hate Team
