Bringing community organizations together to strategize against hate.

In response to the visible rise in anti-Asian hate, the California State Legislature passed a historic $165.5 million API Equity Budget in 2021. Of those funds, the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) is administering $110 million over three years to allow organizations of various backgrounds to educate the public on what hate looks like and what can be done about it.

This is the Stop the Hate program, and it is now underway for 80+ community-based organizations throughout the state.

AAPI Equity Alliance is proud to serve as the Los Angeles regional lead for 24 grantees– 16 of which are AAPI Equity members. Earlier this March, we facilitated two convenings for the grantees to connect, collaborate, and learn from one another.
