Angelenos don’t give up, we step up.

Dear Friends,

2025 tested our perseverance. From the wildfires that displaced thousands to thousands being disappeared by ICE, our beloved LA community has witnessed and endured such drastic tragedies this year alone.

But, what we’ve also seen is the power of our resolve. The thing is: Angelenos don’t give up, we step up. 2025 lit a fire in our hearts. Together, we are fierce in our determination and demand for a more just future. No matter the challenges ahead of us.

Whether it’s gathering community leaders to sound the alarms on the impacts of ICE or educating legislators on the dangers of hate and discrimination, AAPI Equity Alliance is proud to lead the critical work of our coalition of 50 member organizations and to support LA with lifesaving resources.

Supporters like you are the reason why we are able to sustain our work. Will you take part in the movement and make a contribution this Giving Season?

In 2025, AAPI Equity Alliance and our members…
  • Supported AAPIs with In-Language Resources
    • We developed a resource guide, translated into 7 Asian American languages, for survivors and their families impacted by the wildfires.
    • We advocated for a more inclusive, multilingual alert system during natural disasters like the wildfires, which affected 12,000+ Asian Americans who needed language assistance within evacuation zones.
  • Demonstrated Solidarity Against ICE
    • We organized a press conference with AAPI community leaders and brought media attention to critical resources and how these raids are uniquely and quietly impacting our communities.
    • With We Are California, we also organized a community gathering in Long Beach to reclaim our sense of safety from the terror of ICE with stories, food, and performances.
  • Resisted Hate & Racism
    • More than 300 #StoptheHate community leaders from across the state joined us in Sacramento to educate 92% of the State Legislature on the impacts of hate.
    • We helped Asians and Asian Americans heal from racial trauma through the HOPE program, a mental health intervention tool empowering people to take meaningful action in their communities.
  • Protected Democracy
    • AAPI Equity Alliance came out in full support of California Proposition 50 with a voter guide and placed ethnic media ads to spread the word to the Asian American communities in Los Angeles.
As we look toward our 50th Anniversary in 2026, we are reminded of the progress we’ve made over the past 5 decades and the work ahead of us. Our mission to improve the lives of AAPIs through civic engagement, policy advocacy, and capacity building remain more important than ever.
