AAPIs have power in numbers. Let’s show up & VOTE!

Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) are emerging as an underestimated political force with the power to sway elections. As one of the largest and most diverse communities in this nation, we have power in numbers when we show up and vote for our community’s needs!

The March 5th primary election is one day away. Help your friends, family and colleagues vote with the resources in this newsletter.

Nonpartisan Resources:
  • Visit calmatters.org/california-voter-guide-2024/ to know what’s on the ballot.
  • Back in December, AAPI Equity and our partners hosted a community forum with Los Angeles City Council District 10 candidates. To hear their positions on issues pertaining to AAPI communities, watch a recording produced by Center for Asian Americans United for Self Empowerment (CAUSE) here.
3 Ways to Vote:
  1. Drop off your mail-in ballot in the mail, at an official ballot drop box or in-person vote center. No postage is required.
  2. If you’re looking to vote in-person, more than 500 additional vote centers have opened across Los Angeles County to accommodate you. Find one here. A big thanks to community-based organizations, including Chinese American Citizens Alliance (C.A.C.A) and Korean American Federation of Los Angeles (KAFLA), who served as flex and mobile vote centers for our ethnic communities!
  3. Not registered to vote? It’s not too late! Show up to any vote center in Los Angeles County to register and vote the same day.

According to a recent New York Times article, turnout at the polls among Asian American voters nearly doubled the last presidential election year. Your voice matters – now more than ever. Join us, and vote in this primary election to create positive change in our communities.
