Naomi Shefali Joshi is the Communications Coordinator at AAPI Equity Alliance. Prior to joining AAPI Equity, Naomi worked as a Communications & Administrative Assistant at Open Paths Counseling Center: a non-profit focused on providing mental health care services to underserved communities in Los Angeles. She has also worked as a creative freelance editorial and (copy)writer at various publications, journals and creative agencies over the past 5 years.
Naomi is passionate about and skilled in cultural journalism/storytelling, community building & holding space for voices of color. She is dedicated to cultivating belonging for marginalized communities & racialized bodies, mostly through writing, research, interviews, and art & culture-based work.
Naomi received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Cultural Anthropology at Amsterdam University College. She then proceeded to do a Research Masters in Cultural Analysis at the University of Amsterdam.
