Be a good neighbor and vote!

Dear Friends,

On Oct. 21st, community members came together to witness the resilience, creativity, and strength of Minnesotans in the documentary film, Minnesota Neighbors. Thank you to those who showed up to be in community with us during United Against Hate Week!

The biggest takeaway of the film? Neighbor is a verb.

When immigrant families were trapped inside their houses during Operation Metro Surge, seniors did their laundry, people walked their dogs, crowds sang messages of solidarity, schools became mutual aid hubs, and much more.

United Against Hate Week gathered hundreds of Angelenos across LA County to take action as an antidote to despair. As one of the leading agencies for LA vs. Hate’s Rapid Response Network, AAPI Equity Alliance is proud to partner with LA vs. Hate, Not In Our Town, the Democracy Center, and the Japanese American National Museum in bringing this critical piece of history to Los Angeles.

There is one way that you can be a good neighbor right now, and that is voting in this upcoming election.

With less than a week before Election Day (11/3), we urge you to make a plan to vote and speak up in solidarity against the atrocities impacting our immigrant communities.

Keep on reading for LA vs. Hate updates, United Against Hate Week events, and voter resources!

In Solidarity,

Manjusha P. Kulkarni
