Dear Friends,
In Minnesota, people blew whistles, cooked free meals, and shielded their immigrant neighbors during immigration raids. We saw the power of ordinary people of all backgrounds coming togetherĀ in the face of violence and grief.Ā
Join us in listening to their stories and witnessing their resilience in a new documentary film,Ā Minnesota Neighbors,Ā next week on October 21st at The Democracy Center!Ā
A panel will follow the screening to discussĀ the filmās impact on a local resistance and solidarity andĀ how everyday people can get involved in fighting anti-immigrant hate.Ā
Speakers include:Ā
- Christine Najung Lee,Ā Deputy Director of Asian Youth Center
- Sithea San,Ā Chair of Cambodia Town Inc
As part of #UnitedAgainstHateWeek, the film invites us to consider how we can civically participate in shaping our communities. Voter resources and actions will be provided for attendees to vote early and with confidence before Election Day.Ā
Keep on reading for #UnitedAgainstHateWeek and civic engagement events.Ā
We hope to see you next week!
With Gratitude,Ā
Miso JangĀ
