Reclaim Our Streets in Long Beach ✊

Dear Friends,

Not-so-fun facts:

  1. Since the beginning of 2025, the number of Asians arrested by ICE has tripled, with Californians accounting for 20% of all Asian arrests.
  2. In LA, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) make up 107,000+ of the undocumented population and 111,000+ AAPIs with legal status live with undocumented family member(s).
AAPIs, especially Southeast and South Asians, are being detained and disappeared from the streets, at court hearings, ethnic businesses, and more. Our people are homebound, experiencing food insecurity and financial instability, out of fear for their lives. This is unacceptable.

That’s why we’re heading to Long Beach, home to the largest Cambodian community outside of Cambodia and other Southeast Asian communities disproportionately impacted by ICE.

Join us in reclaiming our streets and neighborhoods on Thursday, September 11th from 4PM – 6PM at MacArthur Park in Long Beach (1321 E. Anaheim Street). Because when ICE comes for one of us, they come for all of us!

Now, with the Big Ugly Bill, an unprecedented $170+ billion is allocated towards immigration enforcement and detention. This expansion comes at a time when mass concentration camps and prisons are already being built at a terrifying speed and ICE and military forces are weaponized in major cities across the nation.

We cannot let this authoritarian regime become “normal”. It is the exact opposite, it is undemocratic and it is un-American.

Our predecessors and ancestors have endured this kind of regime before. They’ve shown us that there is a way forward, that our power, strength, and resilience multiplies tenfold when we push back together.

Join us, loud and proud in AAPI culture and diversity, at MacArthur Park in Long Beach on Thursday, September 11 from 4PM – 6PM. We’ll reclaim our power and safety with food, art, and music and honor the lives stolen by ICE.
